Description
Neurotoxins
Common treatment areas:
Frown lines, Crow’s feet around eyes, Horizontal lines across the forehead, Vertical lines between nose and mouth, Worry lines or furrows, Gummy smile, and other areas of the face and neck
Facts:
- Most people and skin types are good candidates for neurotoxins injections.
- The sensation associated with this procedure is minimal
- You can see results anywhere from a few days up to two weeks.
- Neurotoxins can last anywhere from three to six months. When you notice facial movements returning in the treatment areas, you can receive a second treatment to maintain results, usually after 3 months.
- This procedure can be done rather quickly [i.e., during a lunch break]
- There is not downtime after injections, the area may be tender and some light bruising can form but this usually resolves withing a few days.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers (Soft Tissue Fillers) are medical device implants approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in helping to create a smoother and/or fuller appearance in the face.
Dermal fillers are used to: soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume, plump the lips, build symmetry in facial features, define the chin, jawline, and cheekbones, fill hollow under eyes, and for increasing the volume of the back of the hand.
Hyaluronic acid such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, Revanesse, and Belotero®: HA is naturally found in the body and plays a crucial role in maintaining skin hydration and elasticity. Sources of hyaluronic acid used in dermal fillers can be from bacteria or rooster combs (avian). In some cases, hyaluronic acid used in dermal fillers is chemically modified (crosslinked) to make it last longer in the body. The effects of this material last approximately 6 – 12 months.
Facts:
- Soft tissue fillers have a temporary effect, because they contain materials that are absorbed by the body over time.
- Results can be seen immediately! Swelling will also be immediate, so final results are generally revealed one to two weeks post-treatment.
- Filler can last between six to eighteen months. Results vary on the area treated and the product used.
- Dermal fillers are not permanent. If you wish to maintain the results of your treatment or add to them, you will need maintenance touch-ups between six to twelve months after your initial appointment.
- Downtime after dermal fillers: Swelling and mild bruising are likely to occur and last for a few days, depending on the number of injection sites.
Microneedling
Micro‐needling uses either a micro‐needling pen, stamp or a rollers to mechanically break fibrils or elastin collagen that has contracted and has formed depression scars or static rhytids. Micro‐needling is indicated for patient conditions such as acne scars, cellulite (Grade III), static rhytids, and overall facial and body part skin rejuvenation. This treatment tightens the skin and promotes collagen production, reduces the signs of aging, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture and tone, and diminishes the size and texture of scars.
At Kanvas, we offer multiple different micro needling treatment options:
- Hyaluronic acid provides lubrication and is a powerful humectant that promotes rapid re-hydration and volume enhancement within the upper layers of the skin.
- PEP Factor Formula is designed to contribute to the appearance of healthier and younger looking skin, improves the look of uneven skin tone, diminish the appearance of pore size, smooth the appearance of wrinkles and much more.
- AnteAgeMD Exosomes, Growth factor and Brightening. They contain pro-healing, anti-inflammatory growth factors and cytokines derived from laboratory culture of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, the specialized cells that science has determined function as “command and control” of healing in all injured tissues.
We recommend the microneedling in a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.
Plasma rich Platelets (PRP) Treatments
PRP contains stem cells that are concentrated which allows for cell division for growth as well as being able to attract additional stem cells to the repair site. Regeneration occurs within the tissues and fibrils ensues while initiating growth and repair for up to (1) month after these injections. The result is new, healthy tissues that is permanent and is used aesthetically or medically dependent upon patient presentation.
At Kanvas, we use the EMCYTE “Double Spin PRP” for hair loss and facia rejuvenation treatments. This double spin system yields a significant higher platelet concentration; in essence, there is not only a larger concentration of platelets but also stem cell and stem cells markers with the dual spin.
PRP for Hair Restoration is an injectable procedure to reverse hair thinning and loss by injecting PRP into the scalp. It is an alternative to more invasive procedures and is suitable for both men and women.
We can combine this procedure with things like PDO threads to improve vascularization and achieve better results. PRP injections work best when treating chronic hair loss (male and female pattern baldness) and acute hair loss (ex: postpartum hair loss). The best candidate has brittle, weak, or thin hair. However, we cannot treat areas of long-standing baldness or “shiny” bald spots. Visible results can take six to twelve months. However, many patients notice significant improvements within three months. You will benefit from other treatment modalities for hair loss to help you achieve and maintain the desired results.
PRP Facial is injected into areas of the face to release growth factors. The injections promote collagen production, stimulate blood flow in the treatment area, and deposit growth factors, leading to Healthier looking skin, reduces the signs of aging and fine lines, improves skin texture.
Most patients require at least 3-4 treatments scheduled four to six weeks apart. The best results may be seen between four and nine months, and treatments can be repeated until the patient has received their desired results. Maintenance injections are needed for those who want to preserve their results for many years to come. We recommend them every 6-12 months, depending on every case.
PDO Threads
PDO (Polydioxanone) Smooth Threads are a non-invasive treatment for promoting natural collagen production for long-lasting results in the areas of insertion. PDO mono (monofilament) threads when inserted superficially under the skin promotes collagen, elastin, and blood vessel regeneration, thereby improving the overall quality of the skin and restoring volume loss of tissues. PDO Threads are a safe and effective treatment for lax skin, fine lines, and wrinkles, they lift, tighten, and firm face and neck areas without more invasive surgical procedures like face and neck lifts.
PDO Smooth (Mono) threads can be placed in any area where rejuvenation of tissues is desired and can be placed in a mesh or layered pattern depending upon preference or patient indication. PDO Smooth Threads are recommended in a series of three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for maximum results.
PDO Lifting Threads use blunt cannulas to carefully insert an absorbable barbed thread to a deep, subcutaneous layer of skin. Lifting threads have a dual purpose: a fixing part and a support part, so that its effect can last for a longer time than other products that have no support.
PDO thread treatment can lift, tuck, and contour the skin, including the jowls and the area surrounding the eyes. PDO threads are a fantastic choice for those with sagging skin, lines, wrinkles, and advanced signs of aging.
Facts:
- Immediate results can look and feel tighter than desired, but the sutures will settle after three weeks, revealing a more naturally rejuvenated appearance.
- PDO threads will dissolve within six to twelve months. You can preserve the results for many years with maintenance appointments and partnering this service with other forms of skin rejuvenation.
- Recovery lasts two to four weeks after your PDO Thread procedure.
- Pain and light swelling at the treatment site are expected.
Collagen biostimulants
A Collagen Biostimulator consist oa a substance that is injected into the deep dermis.
At Kanvas we offer multiple options like PRP, PDO Smooth Threads, Radiesse and Sculptra.
RADIESSE® or Calcium hydroxyapatite, is a type of mineral that is commonly found in human teeth and bones. For wrinkle filling in the face or for the hand, calcium hydroxyapatite particles are suspended in a gel‐like solution and then injected into the wrinkle in the face or under the skin in the back of the hand. The effects of this material last approximately 18 months.
Sculptra® or Poly-L-Lactic Acid is a biodegradable, biocompatible man‐made polymer. This material has wide uses in absorbable stitches and bone screws. PLLA is a long-lasting filler material that is given in a series of injections over a period of several months. The effects of PLLA generally become increasingly apparent over time (over a period of several weeks) and its effects may last up to 2 years.
